The role of the Nurse or Paramedic Non-Medical Prescriber will be responsible for the assessment, treatment, and discharge of scheduled and unscheduled cases with an urgent nature, including assessment, initial treatment, and referral of emergency cases across all ages. The post holder will utilize their non-medical prescribing qualification to support patient care according to the local formulary. As senior clinicians, they will also support staff who issue medications via PGD with their prescribing decisions. The post holder will manage the day-to-day operations of the UTC and, in the absence of the operations manager, will handle general enquiries, staffing issues, complaints, and support junior staff as required.
* Autonomous assessment, treatment, and discharge of adults and children presenting with minor injuries and illnesses in accordance with local policies and national clinical guidelines.
* Oversee the daily operations of the Urgent Care Treatment Centre.
* Ensure all patients' individual needs are assessed upon admission, their care is appropriately planned and delivered in line with best practices, and outcomes are evaluated.
* Assist the Operations Manager in improving patient care and deputize in their absence.
