About the role: As a Business Engagement Specialist, you will build and grow a pipeline of employer partners, ensuring every T Level student has access to high-quality, meaningful placements. T Level students complete a minimum of 315 hours in industry, and those placements are critical to their success. Your work will directly influence their journey and the strength of our employer partnerships. Every placement you secure is more than just a number, it’s a real opportunity for a student to gain experience, build confidence, and take a step closer to their career. You will work closely with curriculum teams to match the right student to the right opportunity, while developing strong, lasting relationships with employers. Alongside securing placements, you will support businesses with their wider workforce needs, positioning apprenticeships, training, and long-term partnerships as part of their talent strategy. What you’ll be doing: Proactively sourcing and securing T Level placements across a range of sectors Building long-term partnerships with employers and becoming their trusted contact Understanding business needs and positioning placements as part of their future talent pipeline Managing a live pipeline, tracking progress, and ensuring placements remain active and high-quality Supporting progression into apprenticeships where opportunities arise This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based at City of Oxford College, though we have some flexibility for you to be based at any one of our Oxfordshire campuses. What do you need to be successful as a Business Engagement Specialist at Activate Learning? You should be a natural relationship builder, who is proactive, solutions-focused, and motivated by the impact you could have on young people’s careers. To meet the requirements of the role you should be highly organised, and able to manage a high-volume caseload and meet targets. Candidates must have: Experience in recruitment, business development, sales or employer engagement Confidence speaking to business leaders and decision-makers Experience in the education sector is desirable, but not essential.
