About The Opportunity
Our Water and Environment Business Unit focuses on River Engineering and Flood Risk Management solutions, including flood defence structures, weirs, gates, sluices, flood storage reservoirs, natural flood management, habitat creation, hydrometric gauging facilities and fish passes. The Water Catchment Management team comprises over 400 staff based in the UK and Europe, with reach into the Middle East, Australasia and America. The team delivers a diverse portfolio of projects with a key focus on flood risk management for the Environment Agency and other Local Authorities, working across sectors in integrated catchment management to deliver sustainable environmental solutions.
Responsibilities
* As a Graduate Hydrologist, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering projects for clients such as the Environment Agency, SEPA, water companies and major infrastructure providers.
* Your workload will be varied: helping a water company identify how it can meet its environmental flow targets, designing a river restoration scheme, using modelling software to map flood risk and assess how to protect homes from flooding, and more.
* You will be exposed to a wide range of projects, with support to grow and develop into the areas you find interesting.
Qualifications
* Be working towards a Masters level qualification in Hydrology
* A flexible self-starter who is keen to drive your career forward
* Adaptable to change, with a thirst for learning new things
* You must have the permanent right to work in the UK
