The post holder ensures that comprehensive, evidence-based healthcare is accessible to all Looked After Children (LAC), including those placed out of area, and that their health needs are effectively assessed, monitored, and addressed. This role involves direct clinical work with young people aged 16-18, leadership of the LAC nursing team, and collaboration with multi-agency partners to improve outcomes. The Named Nurse will oversee service development, training delivery, safeguarding arrangements, and quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities under the Children Acts and relevant national guidance. The post holder will represent the Trust in interagency forums, contribute to policy development, and provide expert advice and supervision to colleagues. A key focus is promoting the health and wellbeing of LAC through strategic planning, operational leadership, and continuous service improvement.
Due to the promotion of our existing post holder, we are looking to recruit a committed Named Nurse to join our Cared for Children's Service. You will be joining a united and collaborative senior leadership team and will be a strong advocate and committed to safeguarding.
