The Keystone Academy is a specialist school for children aged 4-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and difficulties. It brings together the vision of The YES Trust with that of Shropshire Local Authority, aiming to provide an excellent specialist school for students with SEMH, including those with neurodivergent needs.
As a new school, we are lucky enough to have a brand-new building which has been purpose-built for our cohort’s needs.
EYFS is a new provision at The Keystone Academy and we are seeking exceptional individuals to develop this key stage.

Job Description
Key Priorities
· To implement and deliver anappropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum forpupils, incorporating the areas of learning for Early Years Foundation Stage inline with the policies of the school.
· To facilitate, support and monitor theoverall progress and development of EYFS pupils and designated groups ofpupils.
· To foster a learning environment andeducational experience which provides pupils with the opportunity to excel.
· To share in the development of theEYFS curriculum, teaching programmes, methods of teaching and assessment andtheir review. To support and contribute to the school’s responsibility forsafeguarding children.
Teaching and Learning
Teachers atthe academy will help secure and sustain effective teaching and learningthroughout the Academy, monitor and evaluate progress and present students’achievements, effectively using benchmarks to track set targets forimprovements. They will be r esponsiblefor:
· Co-operation and close liaison withparents and guardians, professionals within Early Years Foundation Stage andthe wider school, including fellow staff and colleagues from external agencies(for example, SENCo, specialist teachers, health professionals and socialworkers).
· Working with others to plan andcoordinate work both indoors and outdoors.
· Motivating and stimulating children’slearning abilities, encouraging learning through experience
· Liaising with primary colleagues to ensure the smoothtransition between EYFS and KS1.
Genericresponsibilities
· Teaching all areas of the foundationstage, which is focused on helping the children achieve early learning goals;
· To be part of a team to plan, prepareand evaluate all aspects of EYFS provision;
· Providing pastoral care and support tochildren and providing them with a secure environment in which to learn;
· Developing and producing visual aidsand teaching resources;
· Organising learning materials andresources and making imaginative use of resources;
· Developing children's curiosity andknowledge;
· Working with others and contributingto the strong and experienced team ethos of the school, to plan and coordinatework both indoors and outdoors;
· Observing, assessing and recordingeach child's progress and preparing reports for external agencies;
· Ensuring the health and safety ofchildren and staff is maintained during all activities, both inside and outsidethe nursery/school;
· Keeping up to date with changes in thecurriculum and developments in best practice;
· To be adaptable, flexible and have asense of fun and humour.
Partnership Working
Support in establishing a culture andcurriculum which fulfils the aims and requirements of the whole schoolcommunity as set out in the vision
· Seek opportunities to invite parentsand carers into the academy to enrich student experience and to promote theacademy’s value to the wider community
· Collaborate with staff, to activelypromote British values, as well as the academic, spiritual, moral, social,emotional and cultural well-being of students and their families
· Represent the academy at relevantmeetings, as and when required
Health and Safety / Child Protection
To help ensure that health and safetystandards meet statutory requirements, monitoring health and safety matterswithin the school, particularly ensuring that all members of staff takereasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others
· To help ensure that Child Protectionand Safeguarding procedures and Department of Health assessments of Children inNeed are rigorously complied with, and that the welfare and health and safetyof students are of prime consideration
