Our client is a well-established, family-run modular building manufacturer based in HU9, Hull. With over 20 years of experience, they design, manufacture, and install bespoke modular and portable buildings across the UK, serving sectors such as education, healthcare, and commercial industries.
The Role
We are looking for a CAD Design Engineer (2D) to join our client's design team on a temporary ongoing basis. You will play a key role in producing accurate technical drawings for modular building projects, supporting the full design-to-manufacture process.
This role offers consistent full-time hours with the potential for long-term continuity depending on workload and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Produce detailed 2D CAD drawings for modular building layouts and components
Develop production drawings from concept through to manufacture
Collaborate with internal teams including production and project management
Interpret client requirements and translate into technical designs
Ensure drawings comply with relevant standards and specifications
Assist with revisions and continuous improvement of design processes
Requirements
Proven experience using 2D CAD software (AutoCAD or similar)
Background in construction, engineering, or modular/building design (preferred)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to read and interpret technical specifications
Good communication and teamwork skills
Desirable (Not Essential)
Experience within modular or portable building design
Understanding of manufacturing or fabrication processes
Salary & Benefits
Equivalent of £30,000 annual salary (paid hourly)
Full-time hours: 08:30 - 17:00, Monday to Friday
