Overview
We are looking for an individual to join the team in our on-site milk processing unit at Nortons Dairy. We are a fourth-generation family run business producing a range of milk, cream, yogurt, butter and cheeses using milk from our own herd of Brown Swiss dairy cows.
Responsibilities
* Delivering to our wholesale customers throughout North Norfolk. Responsible for driving our delivery vehicle and unloading orders at each location.
* Delivering to our doorstep customers in the immediate area.
* Contribute to the pasteurising, bottling and labelling within the dairy with training provided to operate the pasteuriser independently.
* Contribute to the daily cleaning schedule within the dairy to maintain a hygienic environment which extends to the cleanliness of the delivery van.
* Be available to cover staff illness and holidays as required and following mutual agreement with your manager.
Essential attributes
* The role requires a lot of manual handling, and the right candidate will be physically able to load and unload full milk crates and carry out the necessary cleaning tasks required.
* Have a full UK driving licence.
* Be flexible, conscientious and reliable.
* Be over 25 years of age (for the purposes of vehicle insurance; however we can consider younger candidates that meet all other criteria).
* Able to work as part of a small team (3-5 people) and independently.
Desirable attributes
* Have relevant experience for the role in a food production and/or delivery environment.
Hours, pay and location
* Initially required 14 hours per week. The specific working pattern is negotiable.
* Monday 8am – 2pm, Friday 8am – 4pm with an additional delivery Monday 2pm-3pm as required.
* There is scope to offer further days and hours to the right applicant, up to around 20 hours per week.
* You will be paid hourly and be asked to complete a timesheet recording hours worked. This will be paid by BACs into your chosen account on the last working day of the month.
* Full training will be provided, including enrolment onto an online Food Safety and Hygiene Qualification.
