Title: Electrician

Location: HMP Hewell, B97 6QQ (on-site)
Base Salary: £30,866 - £36,135 (dependent on experience)
Working Hours: Some weekends may be required on a rota basis, with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary.
Responsibilities
* Planned and preventative electrical maintenance, including administrative duties aligned to the tasks.
* Actively fault finding / problem solving on electrical systems across the prison.
* Carry out like for like replacements and other electrical minor works with the relevant electrical inspections and tests carried out and results recorded in accordance with BS7671.
* Ensuring that all electrical systems are safe, compliant, and functioning effectively helping to create a secure and well‑maintained environment for staff and residents.
* Assist the Responsible person and Authorised person when requested.
* Ensure that Health & Safety standards, Risk Assessments, and Safe Systems of Work are consistently implemented and followed across all appropriate work streams.
* Assist escorting duties and other duties as required.
Qualifications
* City & Guilds 2367 or 2357 Level 2 Electrical Installation works or equivalent.
* BS7671 18th Edition; 17th Edition acceptable with upskilling to 18th Edition.
* Good working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
* Good working knowledge of planned and preventative maintenance operations.
* Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
* Experience working under pressure to tight deadlines.
* Able to work at heights, work independently and use initiative.
* Understanding of fire alarm and CCTV systems (desirable).
* Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations.
* Basic IT skills.
* Prison Security Clearance required.
