Location
Remote working with regular travel to Yorkshire Water sites and offices, typically two days per week. A full valid UK driving licence (no more than 6 points) is essential.
Work type
Permanent, 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
Position
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer ICA to join the Asset Management team and help Yorkshire Water provide exceptional service to our customers while protecting the environment.

Where you fit in
As our Senior Engineer you will provide technical supervision and line management of a team of Project Engineers, Graduates and Apprentices. Your responsibilities include:
* Delivering and developing robust engineering work packages and scopes for delivery or transfer.
* Providing Engineering Standards support to the ICA Principal Engineer and capital teams.
* Acting as a Subject Matter Expert in Control & Automation within YW Functional Work Groups to develop maintenance plans, specifications and work instructions.
* Leading Technical Governance Working Groups for control & automation application to support the capital delivery programme.
* Supporting the development of Engineering Specifications, WIMES and design guidance.
* Providing on‑site process and operational expertise for interrogation of control and process automation systems, instrumentation, PLC and networks.
* Coaching and mentoring team members to transfer specialist knowledge.
* Leading supplier framework creation and management for Instrument, Control and Automation.
What skills & qualifications you will need
* HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic/Control & Instrumentation Engineering.
* Previous experience developing and writing engineering standards and specifications.
* Experience of integrated PLC systems, deterministic communication networks and system integration.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts for a wider business audience.
* Data management experience, strong analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Office 365.
* Ability to engage customers internally and externally, building positive business relationships.
* Strong coaching and mentoring skills and the ability to drive new initiatives.
* Valid driving licence with flexibility to travel across Yorkshire.
Additional benefits you will enjoy
* Degree in Engineering or equivalent, preferably with a recognised Engineering Institution membership.
* Experience in plant optimisation and reliability engineering.
* Experience of control systems used in automation within the process industry.
* Experience in asset management within a large‑scale engineering or process related industry.
* Experience of safety critical systems, high integrity SIS and IEC61511 functional safety in the process industry.
* Knowledge of equipment in the water industry (high pressure/temperature waste processing, chemical systems, gas processing and high voltage equipment).
