Electrical Controls Engineer
Rochdale, Greater Manchester | Full Time | £35,000-£45,000 per annum (DOE)

Are you the right person for the job?
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
* Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
* Knowledge of IET wiring regulations (BS 7671)
* Proficient in reading and creating electrical schematics in AutoCAD Electrical
* Hands‑on experience with PLC/HMI programming in TIA Portal
* Experience implementing and troubleshooting industrial networks (Modbus/Profinet/Ethernet‑IP)
* Knowledge of ATEX/DSEAR regulations – preferred
* Understanding of functional safety standards (IEC 61508/61511) – preferred
What will your role look like?
* Lead complex electrical engineering projects, including FAT and SAT activities
* Generate technical documentation, including control philosophies, FDS, and C&E documents
* Produce detailed cable schedules and block cable diagrams
* Collaborate with mechanical teams to design cable routing and associated containment
* Program, test, and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs
* Support installation and commissioning activities on site
* Produce detailed costings and labour estimates to assist the sales team
* Provide technical support to engineers and customers
