Fife Health Promotion Service are looking to recruit a full time Tobacco and Vaping Cessation Assistant.

The Health Promotion Service lead on approaches and services which maintain and improve health and wellbeing and reduce inequalities. This covers the life course, early years and children, adults and older adults.

This post is a key role in supporting the day to day functioning of the Health Promotion Service, Tobacco & Vaping team and provides essential and comprehensive support to the wider prevention and protection programmes of work within the Health Promotion Service.

You will be required to provide essential frontline support to the public, service users, internal and external professionals. An ability to respond to enquiries in a professional, personable and timely manner which keeps the focus on a person-centred approach is essential for all activities of the role, enjoying daily working with a wide range of people

You require strong communication, networking and people skills to carry out a range of activities that will include regular marketing, promotion and outreach events to sustain referral rates to the smoking cessation specialist, maternity and community pharmacy services. Daily duties will directly support generating and sustaining referral rates to improve population health and meet successful quits and the ongoing performance and quality improvements in the service.

We are looking for someone who has good attention to detail, a professional and helpful manner with a flexible approach who will enjoy working within a busy team, working under pressure with competing demands.

You are required to be competent to use a range of databases and software packages that support good communication as well as being able to process information, patient and service data and carry out audits.

You should be an individual who has experience in a supportive role, excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently and accurately. You will be educated to Higher Grade or equivalent level and ideally hold an HNC/SVQ level 3 in a relevant discipline and demonstrate equivalent experience.

Knowledge of NHS systems or previous experience of working in a health care setting would be advantageous.
