Our client is seeking a Court of Protection Solicitor or Legal Executive to join their team in Birkenhead, Merseyside, on a hybrid basis.
Skills and Experience
* At least 3 years’ experience handling deputyship files
* Admitted solicitor or legal executive or equivalent
* Good knowledge of law relevant to Deputyship and Court of Protection requirements
* Knowledge of statutory duties relevant to Court of Protection and deputyship files
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
* Experience managing trauma-led deputyship cases
* Experience working with electronic case management systems
* Experience working with trade unions
* Ability to provide informal guidance to junior staff as required
* Ability to manage all aspects of caseloads, including decision-making and supporting team members' cases
Duties
* Assist with all aspects of Professional Deputyship matters, from application to administration
* Manage a caseload of professional and lay deputyship clients
* Prepare and submit lay deputyship applications to the Court of Protection
* Prepare and submit professional deputyship, trustee, and urgent applications
* Provide legal advice to union clients via the free legal advice service
* Liaise with case managers, carers, clients, and their families
