Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Receptionist/Care Navigator to join our team at Ansdell Medical Centre. We are a fun and friendly GP practice in leafy Lytham with over 12,000 patients to care for. If you are looking for a new challenge which is extremely rewarding, then please apply.


Job Details

This is a full time, permanent position working 37.5 hrs per week, with shift patterns between the hours of 07:45 and 18:30, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate must be flexible as shift patterns may vary depending on the needs of the business. Experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be given but a good sense of humour and common sense are a must!


Responsibilities

* Greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing information and assisting patients as required
* Act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers
* Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
* Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
* Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
* Signpost patients to the correct service
* Action incoming emails when necessary
* Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, team members and external agencies
* Read code data on EMIS web
* Photocopy documentation as required
* Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
* Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
* Direct requests for information (e.g. SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLA forms) to the administrative team
* Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
* Carry out system searches as requested
* Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
* Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
* Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
