Children's Support Worker – Therapeutic Residential Care

With two residential homes already rated 'Good' by Ofsted and a third opening soon, we are expanding our dedicated team. The Role
We are looking for a compassionate and resilient Therapeutic Children's Support Worker to join our residential care team. You will play a vital role in supporting young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs, using trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches that promote healing, stability, and positive development.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide consistent, high-quality care in a therapeutic residential setting
* Use the PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) and other trauma-informed methods
* Support children with emotional regulation, resilience, and relationship-building
* Help create a nurturing, structured, and stable environment
* Work closely with colleagues and external professionals to meet individual needs
* Implement personalised care plans and therapeutic interventions
* Offer guidance and support to peers in applying therapeutic strategies effectively
Requirements
* Minimum of 1 year's experience in residential childcare (preferred)
* Understanding of trauma-informed practice, or a willingness to learn
* Compassionate, patient, and emotionally resilient approach
* Flexibility to work on a rota, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it) desirable
