About The Role Engineered to Protect, thats our promise, we protect what matters - our nations, our waters, our land, our cities, our people, our environment, our world.Responsible for thoroughly inspecting mechanical components and production assemblies during the manufacturing process, meeting quality standards, industry regulations, and company specifications by conducting visual checks, measurements, and tests, identifying defects maintaining product quality and safety. Mechanical Inspector will be based at our Barnstaple site. This role does require being onsite 5 days a week. The salary for this role is up to £30k, depending on experience.

Conducting inspections:
Performing detailed inspections of mechanical parts, assemblies, and equipment using various inspection tools and techniques to identify any deviations from specifications, including dimensional checks, surface finish evaluation, and functionality testing Quality control checks:
Verifying compliance with established quality standards, drawing specifications, and manufacturing procedures throughout the production process Defect identification and reporting:
Documenting any defects or non-conformances found during inspection, raising non-conformance reports (NCRs), and collaborating with production teams to address quality issues Data recording and reporting: Maintaining detailed inspection records, documenting test results, and generating comprehensive inspection reports for review by quality management and engineering teams Calibration and maintenance: Ensuring proper calibration of inspection tools and equipment, and performing routine maintenance checks Collaboration with production teams: Working closely with operators, technicians, and engineers to identify potential quality issues early on and implement corrective actions Root cause analysis: Assisting in analysing the root cause of identified defects to prevent future occurrences Compliance with standards: Staying up-to-date with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control procedures About our company At SEA, we develop and deliver advanced solutions to make our world safer, cleaner and more efficient. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes Proficient in using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and measuring equipment Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications Knowledge of quality control methodologies and documentation practices Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects Strong communication and problem-solving skills Relevant technical certifications or qualifications in mechanical inspection (depending on industry) Join us and be part of something smaller - with500people in the UK and Canada - doing something bigger:
