Job Overview

East CAMHS has an opportunity to expand our current Single Point of Access team for the service. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the front door of children’s mental health services, responding to requests for support, information and advice from our referring community. This extends across a broad range of services including education, primary health care, statutory and third sector providers.

In addition, as the service is in a period of transformation and improvement, you will have the opportunity to contribute towards enhancing the service model which will ensure children, young people and their families will have access to appropriate service provision according to their needs.

The ideal candidate would have substantial post qualifying work experience.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for practitioners who can work flexibly across the different areas of the service with the enthusiasm needed to engage a wide range of children, young people, their families and other professionals in meeting their diverse needs. You must be a registered professional with a relevant governing body (NMC, Social Care Wales or health professionals council) and be able to deliver mental health assessments (compliant with The Mental Health Measure Wales 2010) and evidence based interventions for children and young people.

Experience of working in the community with children and young people/adults who are displaying a range of risk type behaviours, complex mental health needs and complex family situations would be an advantage.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Working for our organisation

If you relish a challenge, have a passion to help others or simply fancy a fresh start, then Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) North Wales has all the right ingredients. BCUHB is the largest health organisation in Wales, providing a full range of primary, community, mental health, acute and elective hospital services for a population of around 700,000 across North Wales. Join our team and get the support you need, in line with our Organisational Values and ‘Proud to Lead’ competence framework.

Enjoy being part of working with engaged leadership at all levels, and be assured we are committed to promoting equality and diversity, and are proud to welcome applicants under the “Disability Confident Employer” scheme.
