Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Nurse to join ourfriendly team. Weare seeking a Practice Nurse to work at least 2 days a week (Friday, otherday/days to be discussed). This is an exciting opportunity to join a forwardthinking practice, providing a high standard of patient‑centred care.
Weare located in the village of Yealmpton, Devon. We have a population of 6200 patients. We are part of the Mewstone PCN. We are a supportive practicewith 6 GP partners. Our nursing team consists of a lead nurse, an experiencedpractice nurse, 2 HCAs and a phlebotomist. Thepost-holder will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, to meetthe needs of patients.
We are looking fora registered nurse, ideally with experience in general practice. Howevertraining can be offered to the right candidate.

You must communicatewell, show empathy, and commit to lifelong learning. You will contribute to thesmooth running of the practice, providing excellent patient care.
Availability & Salary
Availability: WorkingFridays 08.00 -18.00, other days to be discussed. Availability for someSaturdays, to cover extended access and vaccine clinics.
Salary: Dependent on experience
Main Duties
* Providing evidence‑based nursing care, including chronic disease management (asthma, COPD, diabetes)
* Cervical cytology
* Immunisations and vaccinations – routine and travel where appropriate
* Wound care and dressings
* Contraception and sexual health advice – where competent
* Blood pressure monitoring
* ECG recording
* Health promotion and lifestyle advice
* Supporting QOF and enhanced services delivery
* Maintaining accurate clinical records
* Working within practice protocols and NMC guidelines
* Actual job role will be aligned to individual competencies and training.
Patient Care & Governance
* Deliver compassionate, patient‑centred care
* Maintain accurate clinical records
* Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
* Support patients to understand and manage their health needs
* Work in accordance with the NMC Code and maintain professional registration and revalidation
* Participate in clinical supervision and annual appraisal
* Undertake continuing professional development

* Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, HCAs and the wider practice team
* Participate in team meetings and support training of colleagues where appropriate

* Contribute to audit and quality improvement work
* Support achievement of QOF targets where appropriate
Qualifications
Essential
* Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Willingness to undertake training
Desirable
* Practice Nurse experience
* Long‑term conditions management, asthma, COPD or diabetes
* Immunisation and vaccination training
* On the cervical screening register
* Knowledge of System One
Person Specification
* Experience of working within a nursing team
* Specialist experience such as respiratory or diabetes
* Experience of working in a GP practice
* Registered Nurse
* Previous Practice Nurse experience is desirable, but training will be given to the right candidate
