This growing business is looking for a Graduate Transport Planner to join the team. Starting salary is £27,000. You will be part of a friendly team with social and professional activities.
You’ll be based in Ware, in a new office with onsite facilities and outdoor areas nearby. If the weather is nice you can enjoy a stroll by the River.
The team is small (less than 30) and includes several other graduates.
What You'll Be Doing as a Graduate Transport Planner
Consider housing schemes or retail parks and the ways people get in and out of them. This includes bus, pedestrian, and cycle access, with a focus on sustainability. The role relates to the planning application process for such developments.
* Work on a range of projects and prepare transport assessments for new developments.
* Engage with data: interpret data and produce reports to clarify impacts and likely transport patterns.
* Model transport networks and outline designs of sustainable transport improvements.
* Maintain regular contact with outside partners, including planning consultants, architects, surveyors, clients, and developers.
* Occasional site visits.
The business also has Flood Risk, Sustainable Drainage, and civil engineering design teams. You will have opportunities to work with other teams and learn about them.
What We're Looking For in a Graduate Transport Planner
Some duties may be new to you, but full training is provided. You will support existing staff from the top down, learning alongside graduates and up to company directors.
Requirements
* Geography would be the preferred degree, or anything specifically related to Transport Planning.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Good Excel skills for managing and interpreting data.
You will be learning and adapting as policy bases change at local and national levels. Design codes update and demographics shift, so adaptability is important.
There is possible support to study for a Masters for the right person. As the company grows, so will you in terms of future prospects.
