GSL Education are seeking an experienced Head Teacher for a new school in Bournemouth, created to support pupils with diverse social, emotional, behavioural, and mental health challenges. About the Role:
As Head Teacher, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of the new school. Your role will involve setting the vision and ethos for the school, designing a holistic and therapeutic curriculum, building and leading a talented staff team, and ensuring high-quality teaching and learning for all students. You will have the opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team to support the needs of the children, creating an environment where every student can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the development of the school, including its vision, values, and curriculum.
* Provide effective leadership to staff, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
* Design a therapeutic and academically ambitious curriculum tailored to SEMH and SEND students.
* Recruit and develop a skilled and collaborative staff team.
* Collaborate with parents, and carers to ensure the best outcomes for students.
* Oversee safeguarding and behaviour management policies.
* Lead the development of student pathways, preparing them for their next steps in education or life.
Ideal Candidate:
* Holds QTS and has a proven track record in teaching.
* Experienced in working with SEN, SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour.
* Ability to teach English/Maths up to GCSE level (BTEC/Entry Level experience is a plus).
* Strong leadership, management, and communication skills.
* Passionate about creating a nurturing, ambitious learning environment.
* Experience in developing or leading SEN provisions.
