Research Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation, NIHR Infrastructure

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Senior Research Manager - Monitoring and Evaluation within the Infrastructure team, the post holder will support the development and implementation of strategies and solutions to embed new approaches to award level data monitoring and reporting across the research infrastructure portfolio, and the implementation of scheme level monitoring, evaluation and learning approaches, including impact evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the annual reporting process: manage the annual reporting process, maintain forms and guidance notes, organise briefing workshops for award holders and collate annual reports. Review and provide feedback on annual reports to assure progress against goals, governance and award management.
* Support the review and implementation of new approaches to annual reporting: manage and support ongoing review of current processes and develop a ‘fit‑for‑purpose’ approach, identify and implement a new digital solution for annual reporting.
* Analyse reporting outputs: support quantitative and qualitative data analysis across the infrastructure portfolio, produce visual representations of progress using collected data.
* Provide flexible support to the team and the line manager: offer help on additional tasks during busy times.
Qualifications and Experience
* A degree in biomedical or health sciences research (or significant equivalent sector experience)
* Understanding of the processes involved in monitoring funding awards and evaluating programmes
* Experience in research funding/management or research management within the NHS or HEIs (e.g., clinical trial/study coordination in applied health areas such as pharma, biotech or academia)
* Current knowledge of the UK’s health and care research and policy landscapeExperience in research/grants management and/or monitoring and evaluation of research
* Experience in stakeholder management within and across multiple organisations
* Excellent planning and organisational skills, ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks against demanding targets and deadlines
* Ability to write reports and analyse data, with excellent attention to detail
* Team player with an ability to build effective working relationships
Compensation, Benefits & Working Arrangements:
Salary: £40,300 pa
Location: Twickenham, London / Hybrid working model
Contract Type: Full time, 9 month FTC
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Annual Leave: 25 days, plus UK public holidays
