Responsibilities
As a Civil Structural Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
1. Delivering civil and structural design across water and wastewater projects.
2. Producing and reviewing civil and structural designs, calculations, specifications, and drawings.
3. Designing reinforced concrete structures, foundations, steelwork, and associated infrastructure.
4. Ensuring compliance with UK water industry standards, Eurocodes, and best practice.
5. Collaborating with mechanical, electrical, process, and project disciplines.
6. Supporting design reviews, value engineering, and risk management activities.
7. Engaging with stakeholders, clients, and framework partners.
8. Contributing to innovation and continuous improvement across AMP8 delivery.
Essential Experience
9. Proven experience as a Civil Structural Design Engineer or Civil / Structural Engineer within the UK water sector.
10. Strong technical background in civil and structural design for water and wastewater infrastructure.
11. Experience working within AMP frameworks or with major UK water utilities.
12. Excellent understanding of UK design standards, Eurocodes, and engineering methodologies.
13. Ability to manage technical design and influence engineering decisions.
14. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Qualifications
15. Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related discipline).
16. Ideally Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership.
17. Professional membership (e.g. ICE or IStructE) preferred.
