The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension.

Overview Of The Role

The civil team in the energy unit is looking for a survey coordinator to coordinate and manage survey activities for energy projects, ensuring accurate and timely data collection. Key duties and responsibilities include:

* Coordinate and manage survey activities for energy projects, ensuring accurate and timely data collection
* Collaborate with project teams to integrate survey data into project designs and plans
* Ensure survey output complies with industry standards and project requirements
* Provide technical support and guidance to survey teams
* Monitor and report on survey progress and any issues that arise
* Adapt to new processes and technologies as needed to improve project outcomes
* Conduct Risk Assessments and complete method statements and review and check risk management documents and method statements provided by the survey contractor

Candidate Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

* Risk Assessment and Method Statement Review: Familiarity with reviewing and enforcing safety protocols, risk assessments, and standard operating procedures in high-risk environments
* Attention to Detail and Organisation: Proven ability to manage logistics, maintain accurate records, and ensure operational precision under pressure
* Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using digital tools and systems for data collection, analysis, and reporting—skills that can be transferred to survey software and data analysis platforms
* Clear Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills developed through working with diverse teams, often across ranks and disciplines
* Teamwork and Independence: Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, often in challenging or unfamiliar environments
* Adaptability and Flexibility: Experienced in responding to rapidly changing priorities and operational demands
* Problem Solving and Critical Thinking: Skilled in assessing complex situations, identifying solutions, and making sound decisions in time-sensitive scenarios
* Confidentiality and Integrity: Trusted with sensitive information and committed to maintaining confidentiality and professional standards

Desirable Criteria

Desirable criteria include:

* Experience with Substations or Similar Infrastructure: Any experience working with or around critical infrastructure, such as military installations or power systems, is advantageous
* Survey Implementation Experience: Experience leading or supporting field-based operations, including the use of non-intrusive methods (e.g., remote sensing, surveillance, or technical reconnaissance) is highly relevant
* Relevant Qualifications: A degree or certification in civil engineering is beneficial, but equivalent military training and experience in engineering, construction, or logistics is also valued
* Site Safety and Survey Management: Training and experience in managing site safety, including the creation and auditing of Risk Assessments and Method Statements, particularly for non-intrusive or ground-based investigations
