My client is a global construction and engineering consultancy with offices based very close to the centre of Newcastle. There is currently an opportunity for a paralegal looking for an in-house role and who has a particular interest in matters of construction law, particularly in relation to contracts (consultancy agreements & building contracts) and issues such as GDPR, commercial litigation and professional indemnity insurance. This opportunity is open to paralegals who can already demonstrate prior experience working either in a well-recognised legal practice or at an established organisation outside of private practice. It is not essential for candidates to have a lot of prior experience dealing with non-contentious construction law work, but it is however, essential for any candidates who fit into this description to have a clear and demonstrable enthusiasm for work of this nature and for any such applicants to be commercially focused with clear career development aspirations. The successful candidate will be tasked with undertaking detailed contractual documentation review and providing advice / engaging in negotiations on the same. This role comes with a significant amount of responsibility and although there will be support from a very experienced team it is important that candidates applying for this role are comfortable dealing with business-critical documentation. My client can offer realistic further opportunities for professional development along with a competitive salary and other benefits which can be discussed on receipt of an application.
