Offer description

We’re seeking a passionate, driven Careers Information, Advice and Guidance (CIAG) Adviser to join our team within a custodial setting. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference by empowering individuals in prison to develop the skills, confidence and aspirations needed for a fresh start. Through tailored career coaching, workshops and personalised action plans, you will help participants envision and work towards brighter futures beyond custody.

This role is more than just a job – it’s a chance to transform lives, reduce reoffending and contribute to stronger communities. You’ll work directly with individuals to support their career development and future planning, offering guidance on education, training and employment opportunities as they prepare for reintegration into society.

We’re seeking a confident, compassionate and adaptable individual who can thrive in a custodial environment and bring a person‑centred approach to their work. You should be resilient and empathetic, with a genuine desire to support others in making positive changes. Whether you have experience in careers guidance or are looking for a purposeful next step in your career, this role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable engaging with job centres, employers and community organisations to identify and recruit adult learners. You’ll be skilled in conducting eligibility checks and initial assessments, matching individuals to suitable courses and providing impartial advice and guidance to both learners and their support networks. An understanding of welfare needs and career development is essential, along with the ability to promote learning opportunities.

Seetec provides full training and ongoing support to help you succeed within your role.
