Opportunity to join the Asia-Pacific investment team at Pyrford International, a global investment boutique (part of Columbia Threadneedle Investments). The position is for a junior portfolio manager to take on responsibility for managing several country equity portfolios in line with Pyrford's fundamental "quality and value" process. These country portfolios assembled by senior portfolio managers to build global equity portfolios. How will you spend your time • Screening stocks for potential further research • Analysing company annual reports. • Preparing for and attending company meetings • Formulating and presenting investment proposals for inclusion in portfoios • Updating the team on current holdings in the investment portfolios • Assisting in administrative tasks for the desk and the wider firm. • Travelling to Asia on company meeting/research trips. • Preparing for and attending sell-side research analyst meetings. • Taking responsibility for the ESG (environmental, social and governance) considerations of investment decisions To be successful in this role you will have • A keen interest in financial markets and investing. • Be comfortable with excel and financial modelling • An understanding of accounting and basic valuation techniques • An interest in developing a career in covering Asian equities • An understanding of what makes a successful investment • Prior financial services experience • An inquisitive nature with an attention to detail • Willingness to take the initiative and be a self starter • Willingness to travel for the purposes of investment research If you also had, it would be great • Investment banking/accounting/asset management/financial services experience • CFA or currently working towards Level 3 About Columbia Threadneedle Investments Working at Columbia Threadneedle Investments you'll find growth and career opportunities across all of our businesses.
