Mental Health Senior Support Worker, Young People — Liversedge, West Yorkshire
Salary: £26,364 – £28,294.50 (based on experience)
Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours per week
Responsibilities
* Support with education, household tasks and general life skills to promote independence.
* Update online care records and complete medication administration.
* Ensure the home is kept tidy and the environment remains homely for the young people.
* Assist with transitions for moving on from the home into the community, including helping with self-medication, re-engagement with education, and using public transport and appointments independently.
* Provide incident management and de-escalation of challenging behaviours as part of maintaining a safe environment.
* Complete online records, conduct audits and support staff with reporting.
* Engage in in-house and community activities with young people (arts/crafts, baking, cooking, board games, theme nights, day trips, etc.).
Qualifications and Requirements
* Essential: Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and bank holidays; ability to attend training on weekdays.
* Essential: Good written skills to write basic reports and record information accurately.
* Essential: Basic IT skills for completing forms, using an online care system and writing emails.
* Essential: Good verbal communication and listening skills; ability to maintain professional boundaries.
* Essential: Ability to remain calm in emergencies and support others during difficult situations.
* Desirable: Full UK driving licence.
* Desirable: NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent in Care.
* Desirable: Previous experience with young people who have mental health needs.
About Care in Mind
Care in Mind provides residential services for young people aged 16-30. The young people often require high levels of support to address self-harming, behavioural and emotional difficulties. The aim is to support them using a therapeutic approach to achieve individual goals in preparation for transition to adult life.

Home in Liversedge, West Yorkshire is a 5-bed Edwardian building with spacious rooms and communal areas, a back garden and large decking. The role involves working with an established, diverse staff team dedicated to helping young people achieve their goals and move toward independence.
