Responsibilities
As a Multi Skilled Engineer, internally known as Shift Technician (ST), your role is to work across a fully automated distribution centre consisting of 4 stores, 20 high crane bays, and 3 miles of conveyors over an area of 36,000 sqm. Your responsibilities include ensuring smooth operation and maintenance of the site using your specialist engineering knowledge, delivering optimum plant reliability through preventative maintenance and electrical testing, fault finding, and problem solving.
The successful candidate will be working in a fully automated distribution centre with 3 high-bays, a low-bay, a power store, 20 high bay cranes, and over 6 kilometres of conveyors. You will support logistics operations by responding promptly to and rectifying a wide range of mechanical equipment faults. You should be self-motivated to improve your skills through exposure to various breakdowns, understand the implications of cost, quality, hygiene, and safety, and demonstrate experience with automated mechanical equipment.
You must possess a high level of electrical and mechanical competence to analyze data for performance and efficiency improvements. Your work will be aligned with SRDC and finished goods warehouse areas, performing preventative and reactive maintenance and electrical work. You will support site health and safety programs and champion best practices to improve standards.
Qualifications
* Electrical experience and qualifications assessed at minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
* Apprentice trained with proven experience
* Practical experience in installation, maintenance, fault finding, and problem solving
* Ability to read electrical drawings
* City and Guilds 2395 or equivalent, with some experience
* 18th Edition wiring regulations
* PLC programming experience (desirable)
* Logistics experience (desirable)
* Ability to work independently and with peers and operations team
* Experience in high-volume continuous production environments and fault diagnosis using drawings
* Capable of working at heights up to 22 metres
* Good communication skills with peers and other stakeholders
* Knowledge of site health and safety systems, e.g., permit to work
* Computer literacy

Position Summary
Working Hours: Continental shift pattern, 12-hour shifts on a 5/4 rotation between days and nights.
Salary & Benefits:
o Annual Salary: £54,000 (including shift allowance)
