Do you have experience of delivering a range of transformation, change and improvement projects?
We are committed to improving outcomes for our residents by transforming how services are designed and delivered and are looking for an experienced Delivery Manager to join our Transformation Team.
This is a fantastic opportunity if you thrive on leading change, working collaboratively across organisations, and delivering meaningful improvement in a public sector environment.
What's the role all about?
As a Delivery Manager in our Transformation Team, your role will be to turn ambition into action. You will lead transformation, change and improvement initiatives, helping to redesign services, improve outcomes and deliver better value for local people.
You will act as the engine of delivery – bringing clarity to complex problems, creating momentum, and ensuring priorities are translated into practical plans, tangible outcomes and measurable benefits.
Working closely with senior leaders, service teams and partners you will balance pace with quality, maintaining strong governance while keeping a clear focus on users, outcomes and long‑term sustainability.
This is a hands‑on role that blends leadership, problem‑solving and collaboration. It’s not just about what is delivered, but how – modelling inclusive, agile ways of working, building confidence and capability in others, and supporting projects to transition successfully into business as usual.
What will your day look like?
No two days are the same, but you can expect to lead and manage a diverse portfolio of transformation, change and improvement projects from initiation through to delivery. You will be responsible for ensuring projects deliver real, measurable benefits for residents and services, working in an agile and user‑centred way.
Key responsibilities include creating, leading and motivating multidisciplinary teams, planning and managing timelines, milestones, resources and budgets, identifying risks and issues early, implementing proportionate mitigations, and providing clear, honest reporting on progress and challenges.
You will translate complex problems into clear, achievable plans that others can easily understand and engage with, and ensure that project documentation, reporting and governance arrangements are robust, proportionate and fit for purpose.
Who are we looking for?
An experienced delivery or project professional confident working in complex organisational environments and able to navigate competing priorities. You have a strong track record of delivering service improvement or change projects, with experience leading and coordinating project delivery teams.
You understand a range of project management methodologies and have the judgement to apply them effectively. You are an excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management skills, able to build trusting and productive relationships at all levels.
You will break down complex, system‑wide issues and turn them into tangible actions and outcomes, adapting your communication style to suit different audiences. You see the bigger picture and help others understand the wider context and impact of change. You have a collaborative and inclusive leadership style, support continuous improvement and manage budgets while balancing cost, value and outcomes.
