Buyer – Corporate Services role at Johnson Matthey. Location: Gliwice, Poland or Royston, Hertfordshire UK.

Role and responsibilities
* Act in line with JM values and the One Procurement Community (OPC) to support Procurement Excellence.
* Ensure compliance with Group Procurement policies, standards, and operating models, utilizing Coupa for sourcing and supplier management.
* Build and manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, improve supply channels, and drive sustainable value.
* Analyze purchase order data and financial pipelines to support demand planning and cost optimization.
* Identify and implement supply chain improvements, ensuring cost-effective, ethical, and high-quality sourcing.
* Drive and support category strategies, procurement projects, and business improvements to optimize efficiency and savings.
* Collaborate with stakeholders, finance, and JMGS teams to resolve procurement disputes, ensure compliance, and enhance business performance.
Qualifications and skills
* Procurement Expertise: 5+ years in indirect services procurement, including category management, sourcing, and contract negotiation.
* Supplier & Stakeholder Management: Experience managing suppliers and collaborating across cultures, geographies, and time zones.
* Strategic & Cost Optimization: Ability to balance total cost of ownership (TCO), value analysis, and cost-saving initiatives.
* Project & Change Management: Skilled in driving procurement projects and implementing process improvements.
* Communication & Leadership: Strong interpersonal skills to influence senior stakeholders and champion Procurement’s vision.
* Analytical & Decision-Making: Ability to forecast, analyze data, and prioritize tasks effectively.
Location and working arrangement
This position is based in either Gliwice, Poland or Royston, Hertfordshire UK (not supporting any Plant requirements) and requires on-site work 3-4 days per week, with 1-2 days of remote flexibility.
