The Opportunity
We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic and hands‑on Bar Manager to join our busy hospitality venue in Teddington. If you thrive in a fast‑paced setting and take pride in leading a team to deliver great drinks and memorable guest experiences, this role could be a fantastic fit for you.
You’ll play a key part in shaping the atmosphere, maintaining high operational standards, and ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the bar and beyond.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead, motivate, and support the bar and service team on a daily basis
* Oversee drink quality, presentation, and service speed to meet guest expectations
* Create and manage staff rotas, assign duties, and support team training
* Make sure all bar activities follow UK licensing laws, food safety rules, and hygiene standards
* Keep stock levels under control – from ordering and deliveries to reducing waste
* Interact with guests professionally, handling requests or issues as they arise
* Keep a close eye on service standards and respond to customer feedback constructively
* Get involved in launching new drinks menus and supporting promotional events
* Ensure all bar areas remain clean, tidy, and well‑organised
* Manage cash ups, daily takings, and contribute to basic financial records
What We’re Looking For
* Previous supervisory experience in a bar, restaurant, hotel, or similar setting
* A natural leader who can keep a team motivated and focused during busy shifts
* Solid knowledge of drink making – from classic cocktails to beers, wines, and spirits, plus food safety basics
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks under pressure
* Background in bar operations, food service, or front‑of‑house roles (e.g., serving or barista)
* Clear and friendly communication style with a professional yet approachable attitude
* Understanding of health & safety rules, including alcohol licensing and hygiene
* Comfortable adapting quickly when priorities shift unexpectedly
* Personal Licence holder – beneficial but not essential
* Have the right to work in the UK
