We are currently working in partnership with a Social Housing provider based in West Yorkshire, who are recruiting for a Fire Officer on a temporary three-month contract. The role offers a rate of £350 - £400 per day via an umbrella company, depending on experience.
The ideal candidate is a proactive fire safety professional with experience in residential properties, strong expertise in risk assessment and compliance, confidence in delivering training, a basic DBS certificate (or willing to obtain one), and a full UK driving licence.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
1. Conducting regular fire risk assessments across residential properties to identify hazards, assess risks to occupants, and ensure compliance with fire safety regulations
2. Carrying out detailed inspections of fire doors, escape routes, and other critical fire safety features to ensure proper maintenance and compliance with current standards
3. Reviewing and updating fire safety policies and procedures to align with legislation, guidance, and best practice for social housing
4. Providing fire safety training and awareness sessions for tenants, property management staff, and maintenance teams
5. Collaborating with contractors and maintenance teams to oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of fire safety equipment
Experience and Expertise required:
6. Proven experience conducting fire risk assessments and inspections in residential properties, with strong knowledge of fire safety regulations and standards
7. Expertise in assessing and maintaining critical fire safety features, including fire doors, escape routes, alarms, sprinklers, and emergency lighting
8. Experience developing, reviewing, and implementing fire safety policies and procedures in line with current legislation and best practice
9. Ability to deliver fire safety training and guidance to staff, tenants, and contractors, promoting awareness and compliance across teams
Working hours:
10. 37 hours per week
11. Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm
