Job Overview
As a Security Officer, you will protect our customers’ property, people and assets by delivering security services in line with the Site published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and any subsequent changes. Your work will focus on achieving and exceeding key performance indicators and service level agreements, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and retention.
Main Duties
* Ensure full compliance with all policies, legal and regulatory requirements and UK law, as directed by the Security Account Manager.
* Complete all assigned tasks and duties on site as detailed in the AI's.
* Review and update Assignment Instructions proactively, suggesting amendments to improve service quality.
* Hold an active front‑line licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) and a CCTV PSS SIA licence; renew licences 16 weeks before expiry.
* Follow procedures consistently and work safely, maintaining professional behaviour with difficult customers.
* Document incidents accurately in a notebook for the Incident Report process.
* Perform scheduled check calls and report incidents to the Communication Centre or emergency services as required.
Training
* Complete all required competency training on schedule.
* Engage in continuous professional development led by the Security Account Manager.
* Use technology to meet key work objectives and enhance job knowledge.
Security and Health & Safety
* Identify and report any health and safety hazards immediately.
* React to threats or changes in the work environment with suitable action to minimise risk.
* Use common sense and initiative, involving others if a situation becomes threatening.
* Maintain professional conduct when dealing with challenging customers.
* Keep detailed records of incidents and follow the Incident Report process.
* Adhere to Mitie and client schedules and demonstrate commitment to service delivery.
* Call emergency services and the Communication Centre for all incidents.
What We Are Looking For
* Previous security experience.
* Valid SIA licence.
* SC clearance desirable.
