About the Opportunity We are looking for a proactive and resilient Outreach Student Engagement Coach to work with young people supported by a specialist SEMH provision in Weston-super-Mare. This is not a desk based or classroom bound role. You will be out in the community, building relationships and providing hands on support to students who struggle with engagement, behaviour and emotional wellbeing. Many of the young people you will work with have experienced barriers to mainstream education. Your role will focus on helping them reconnect with learning, build trust and develop the life skills they need to move forward. You will work across a variety of settings, from alternative provisions to community locations, making this a highly varied and active position where no two days are the same. What You Will Be Doing Outreach and Community Work Provide one to one mentoring sessions in community, alternative or off site settings Travel regularly to meet students where they are and deliver tailored support Support young people through transitions, reintegration or periods of disengagement Accompany students to activities, appointments or enrichment opportunities Help students build confidence in real life environments beyond the classroom Work closely with families and external professionals to provide consistent support Building Engagement and Trust Act as a consistent and trusted adult for young people Build meaningful relationships that support behaviour change and emotional development Motivate students to improve attendance, routine and engagement Behaviour and Wellbeing Support Support students to manage emotions using calm and structured approaches Deliver targeted interventions focused on wellbeing, resilience and life skills De escalate challenging situations in a safe and confident way Monitor progress and contribute to ongoing support plans About You We are looking for someone who Has experience working with young people with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour Is confident managing complex or high pressure situations independently Builds strong relationships quickly while maintaining boundaries Is flexible, proactive and comfortable working in a community based role Has a genuine passion for helping young people get back on track ✅ A full UK driving licence is essential This is an outreach heavy role requiring regular travel between locations and supporting students off site daily Why This Role Work in a flexible and active role outside of a traditional classroom Make a real impact on young people who need support the most Be part of a supportive and experienced team Gain valuable experience in outreach, mentoring and behaviour support Access ongoing training and development Apply Today If you are looking for a hands on role where you can build real relationships, work in the community and genuinely change outcomes for young people, we would love to hear from you.
