Eaton Hall Specialist Academy is seeking to appoint Teaching Assistants. The academy teaches pupils from primary through to secondary and therefore it is important in your application to state the age range you prefer to work with.
There are opportunities to work additional hours within the residential care team if staff wish to. Many of our teaching assistants in recent years have successfully secured places on initial teacher training.
The Academy is a residential special school for boys in the age range 7 - 16 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Pupils arrive with disrupted educational experiences and complex difficulties and our team will be responsible for ensuring that they leave with superb outcomes academically, socially and behaviourally.

Job Details
The Academy runs a very strong staff support and development programme. The successful candidates will be reliable, persistent and loyal, with a good sense of humour and strength of character. The academy is looking for people who have a variety of interests outside the curriculum that would lend themselves to leading activities with children.
This permanent Teaching Assistant post will be 32.5 hours per week, term time only plus 5 training days. The postholder will need to be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing in order to undertake the requirements of the role.
Requirements
This Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is likely to come under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 Regulations, therefore successful candidates will be required to complete a declaration form to establish whether disqualified under these regulations.
Applicants must be prepared to undertake an Enhanced DBS check and attend a Warner Interview. Right to Work in the UK will need to be established. If applicable the following will be required: a certificate of good conduct, for teaching posts, a letter of professional standing from the professional regulating authority in the country in which the applicant has worked.

Scale D5-6 £25,583 - £25,989 per annum pro-rata. Actual Salary £19,242 - £19,548 gross per annum. 32.5 hours per week, term time plus 1 week.
