Your new role
As a Traffic Signals Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of traffic signal schemes ranging from new installations to refurbishments and upgrades. You will support a growing design team working across National Highways and local authority frameworks.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Producing technically sound traffic signals designs, calculations, drawings and documentation
* Delivering designs in line with programme, cost and quality requirements
* Identifying and managing design risks in accordance with CDM regulations
* Liaising with clients, contractors and suppliers to resolve technical queries
* Supporting and overseeing junior engineers where appropriate
* Contributing to bid submissions and wider work-winning activities
* Promoting and embedding effective health and safety practices
This role can be based from multiple regional offices with hybrid work available.
What you'll need to succeed
* Proven experience in traffic signals design, ideally from an assistant or design engineer role
* Working knowledge of traffic signals design standards, processes and procedures
* Strong AutoCAD and KeySignals capability
* Experience using LINSIG for junction modelling
* Ability to produce detailed signal designs, including controller configuration forms
* Exposure to Factory and Site Acceptance Testing and commissioning
* Knowledge of SCOOT UTC and/or MOVA design and validation (desirable)
* Understanding of CDM Regulations and design risk management
