A leading UK manufacturer of clay drainage and infrastructure products is seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to strengthen relationships with major merchant, distribution, and contractor accounts. Job Description
* Manage and develop key national and regional merchant and contractor accounts within the UK.
* Build long-term partnerships through effective communication, trust, and value creation.
* Develop and implement strategic account plans to achieve sales, margin, and growth targets.
* Work closely with the sales, marketing, technical, and operations teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
* Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing to identify new opportunities.
* Prepare and present business reviews, forecasts, and performance updates to management.
* Negotiate commercial agreements and pricing structures in line with company policy.
* Support the development of promotional and marketing initiatives to enhance brand visibility.
The Successful Applicant
Essential:
* Proven track record in key account management within the construction, civil engineering, or building materials sectors.
* Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
* Excellent relationship management and communication abilities.
* Experience managing large, complex customer accounts.
* Results-driven and strategically minded, with attention to detail.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of drainage, civils, or below-ground infrastructure products.
* Familiarity with major merchant groups, buying consortia, and contractor networks.
* Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
