Overview
We are seeking a skilled IT Support Engineer to join our client’s team and provide on-site support in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for technology and the patience to support users of all technical abilities. You will be working with enterprise-grade infrastructure in a school investing in next-generation teaching and learning technologies.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide first- and second-line support for staff and students.
* Administer and maintain the school’s IT network and systems.
* Troubleshoot and resolve user support issues efficiently.
* Support and configure PCs, laptops, mobile devices, and AV systems.
* Maintain wired and wireless networks, firewalls, and content filters.
* Communicate clearly with staff to keep them informed on issue resolution progress.
Requirements
* Previous experience in an IT support role.
* Strong knowledge of:
* Windows 11
* Microsoft Office 365
* Microsoft Server 2019 / 2022
* Wired/wireless networking and security systems
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a customer-focused approach.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience supporting Google Workspace for Education (highly preferred).
* Relevant IT certifications or additional qualifications (advantageous).
Additional Information
* Candidates should ideally live within a 30–40 minute commute of Wallingford.
* Ongoing training and development will be provided.
* As this role is based within a school, the successful candidate must undergo an enhanced DBS check.
