• Provide onshore support to the Offshore Operations team to facilitate effective maintenance and repair activities in matters relating to Controls and Instruments.
• Offshore/onshore focal point for performance monitoring and troubleshooting of Controls and Instruments systems.
• Identify and provide cost effective engineering solutions to platform operations and maintenance problems.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, improve reliability, and reduce operating costs.
Responsibilities for Internal Candidates
8. Individually demonstrate positive HSE behaviour and awareness at all times and engage in clear conversation with personnel about HSE issues.
9. Responsible for ensuring positive HSE performance by personnel, contractors and others working under the direction of the Electrical Engineer.
10. Responsible for ensuring that Controls and Instruments OPEX engineering work remains within/below budget, planned schedule and in accordance with design brief.
11. Responsible for detailing OPEX improvements to Controls/Instruments and Telecoms systems for consideration by Engineering Team Leaders
12. Represent Dana as contract representative for asset support contracts
13. Develop improvements to enhance and optimise Controls and Instruments systems.
14. Liaise with control system vendors ( Honeywell, Rockwell, Yokogawa, ABB, Siemens) to implement healthcare contractual obligations
15. Provide technical input to the procurement of replacement instrument and control system equipment
16. Participate as Dana representative at FAT and SAT witnessing testing
17. Review and scrutinise proposed software changes as proposed by offshore operations and maintenance teams
18. Manage and administer use of Asset Guardian for control of all proposed software changes
19. Provide technical support for equipment fault finding investigations and assist with the resolution of operational problems, including participation in and close-out of accident/incident investigations and equipment failure root cause analysis.
20. Collaborate with DANA C&I Technical Authority on issues relating to engineering improvements.
21. Provide onshore discipline support to the Integrated Asset Planning process.
22. Provide discipline support to the management and review of PMRs within MAXIMO maintenance management system
23. Ensure work Controls and Instruments procedures are technically sound and carried out in accordance with Dana’s Management Systems and procedures.
24. Participate in the DANA process for the control and management of safety risk assessments
25. Share and adopt best practices across the company and support and identify opportunities to enhance consistency where practicable.
26. Maintain an appreciation of the latest Controls and Instruments emerging technologies that will improve the performance of the asset
27. Provide recommendations for Controls and Instruments critical spares and optimise asset inventory.
28. Liaise with other support engineers, technical authorities, vendor representatives, and manufacturers to ensure vendor support is efficiently applied when required.
29. Contribute to the development of the field optimisation strategy and the business planning process.
30. Make regular trips offshore to enhance communication and promote understanding of goals
31. Communicate discipline issues to management and the onshore team.
32. Support recruitment, selection, training and competency programs for onshore and offshore teams, to ensure the effective resourcing of technicians.
33. Take ownership for the continuous development of personal and technical expertise and knowledge
34. Participate in the generation, review and approval of vendor Purchase Orders contract documentation and billing
Qualifications for Internal Candidates
35. Qualified with a degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent (or equivalent experience)
36. Good working knowledge of ICSS type control system equipment (Honeywell, Rockwell, Yokogawa, ABB, Siemens)
37. Knowledge and experience gained in the management of ICSS control system healthcare contractual agreements
38. Good working knowledge of the use and application of safety risk assessments
39. Good working knowledge of field instrumentation ( calibration and instrument selection to specific application)
40. Considerable experience of the oil and gas industry, predominantly gained in an engineering and production operations environment.
41. Good working knowledge and application of relevant UK oil and gas industry regulations and Standards (eg IEC61511, Cap437 EEMUA191)
42. Familiar with quality processes and the application of continuous improvement tools
43. Experience in the use of MAXIMO maintenance management system
44. Qualified with a degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent (or equivalent experience)
