GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Design and Technology Teacher (DT Teacher) to work at our client school in Sheffield. This role is initially temporary with a view to moving to a permanent contract after 12 weeks. The role involves teaching across DT subjects, with potential Head of Department responsibilities for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver engaging design and technology lessons tailored to students' diverse needs and abilities.
2. Organise and supervise extracurricular design and technology activities and events to foster curiosity and enthusiasm.
3. Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
4. Create a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged.
5. Promote health and safety in all activities, ensuring students understand safe practices.
Essential Qualifications:
1. Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
2. Ability to provide a ten-year career history with relevant references covering the last two years, including your most recent employment.
3. Experience in teaching design and technology is essential.
4. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
5. The ability to inspire and motivate students in design and technology.
6. Commitment to fostering a love for learning and curiosity about the subject.
7. Relevant qualifications or training in design and technology education (desirable but not essential).
8. An updated CV covering the last ten years (barring unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered with the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
