About The Role: Days of Working: one week 06:00 to 14:00, one week 10:00 to 18:00 Working as part of the site Maintenance team, the Site Maintenance Assistant will provide efficient and effective support to the building. The Site Maintenance Assistant will work in conjunction with the Site Manager and as instructed, ensure a safe working environment by complying with H&S regulations in both their approach and practically. Key Responsibilities: To ensure that plant and equipment in the Building is efficiently and effectively maintained, make any adjustments as necessary and reports defects to the Site Manager in order for contractors to be instructed. To assist in ensuring the testing of life safety systems is carried out on time, and any remedial work is carried out promptly whether this be a sub contractor, or at site level. To either undertake any other such site related planned tasks within capability upon request. To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job as requested by your Line Manager. To undertake porterage tasks as required including setting up and clearing away furniture and ensuring this is done so in a prompt manner by planning workload. Painting and Decorating – as and when required. Minor electrical work – as and when required (changing of light bulbs, etc). First line maintenance of fixtures and fittings, examples: tightening screws on window hinges, maintenance on door handles, minor repairs as a temporary measure after break-ins, vandalism etc. The un-blocking sinks, traps and waste pipes. Adjustment and re-washering of taps. To undertake any other such maintenance task within capability upon request of the Site Manager. To report emergencies in the case of faults with gas, electric and water supply the Site Manager immediately. To attend to and escort, where necessary, personnel visiting the site such as contractors. To utilise the FMS helpdesk function and ensure all job requests are reported, responded to within the priority allocated, updated & closed alongside the Site Manager. To regularly communicate with the Site Manager and ensure challenges or issues faced are discussed and resolved. To comply with the requirements of Health and Safety and any other relevant legislation To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job. Candidate requirements: Previous stores/warehouse experience beneficial. Previous experience in a front facing customer service sector. Well organised with the ability to prioritise workloads.
