Deputy Headteacher

Due to the retirement of the longstanding Deputy Headteacher, Stanley Park Junior School is looking to appoint an ambitious Deputy Headteacher to join our successful school from September 2026.

About Stanley Park Junior School...

We are a thriving, over-subscribed, friendly and inclusive three-form Foundation Junior School in the London Borough of Sutton and were rated 'Good' in our last Ofsted in September 2023. We are a successful, caring and happy school that prides itself on a strong and stable staff team. Our school nurtures caring, confident and successful children with a 'Sense of Pride' in all they do. Governors, parents and staff work together to challenge and support children of all abilities to achieve their best. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to work in this role as part of the Senior Leadership Team.

What we are looking for someone who:

1. Is an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations of achievement and behaviour
2. Has successful leadership experience in Key Stage 2 and the ability to inspire others
3. Believes passionately in inclusion and high expectations for every child.
4. Can think strategically, but also roll up their sleeves and get stuck in.
5. Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Builds strong relationships with staff, pupils and families
7. Is reflective, resilient and always striving to improve
8. Will thrive in a collaborative and ambitious school environment.
9. Is engaged with current educational research.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

10. Model exceptional professional standards and lead by example
11. To be responsible for the leadership of the curriculum development across the school and raising standards in teaching and learning.
12. Contribute to the day-to-day leadership and running of the school.
13. Lead on raising the achievement of disadvantaged students, including pupil premium and their personal development, attendance, attainment and progress.
14. Work alongside the Headteacher and senior leaders to drive school improvement.
15. Deputise for the Headteacher when required
16. To make a significant contribution to the school’s continuing professional development programme
17. Be part of the safeguarding team
18. Committed to providing pupils with access to a wide range of extra-curricular activities

This post includes a teaching commitment of around 2.5 days
