Base: Minerva Health Centre (the successful applicant must be able to travel in the Central & West Lancashire locality)
We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with experience of working with children with additional and complex needs.
The Children's Therapy Team provides an excellent opportunity to work alongside dedicated professionals providing high quality care to reduce the impact of disability on children and their families. We work with children and young people aged 0-19, using well‑developed, evidence‑based pathways to support children with a wide range of physical difficulties.
The team comprises occupational therapists, physiotherapists and speech and language therapists. We work closely with colleagues in health, education and social care to provide a genuinely child‑centred service. We operate across a variety of locations, including clinics, children’s homes, nurseries and schools.
This post provides an opportunity for leadership in developing the local service and working with service users to strengthen and develop the local service. We can offer clinical and management supervision, specialist support by experienced senior staff, continuing professional development and specialist OT Forums. The successful candidate must effectively manage their own time and demonstrate excellent communication skills. They should be well‑organised, confident in planning their own routes, and comfortable working in a community‑based environment.
A key part of this role involves travelling across the locality to undertake home and community visits. Some areas are not accessible by public transport, so the ability to travel independently and efficiently between sites is essential. The Children's Therapy Team has a strong network of Clinical Leads and a Professional Lead for Children’s OT.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly the CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
