Contract Type: Permanent Hours: 45 hours per week Shift Pattern: 8:30am 5:30pm, shift rota including weekends (2 weekends per month) Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience The Role We are recruiting for an experienced Butcher to join a busy and well-established Farm Shop in Banbury. This is a customer-facing role, requiring both strong butchery skills and excellent customer service. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality meat products while providing advice and recommendations to customers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous retail butchery experience who enjoys working with quality produce and takes pride in delivering exceptional service. Key Responsibilities Preparing, cutting, trimming, boning, and portioning a range of meat products Breaking down carcasses and larger cuts into retail-ready products Creating attractive and well-stocked counter displays Serving customers and providing advice on products, cuts of meat, and cooking methods Receiving and checking deliveries Stock rotation and inventory control Ensuring products are correctly labelled and displayed Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety Cleaning and sanitising workstations, equipment, tools, and preparation areas Maintaining a clean, organised, and professional butchery environment Working closely with colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations Requirements Previous experience working as a Butcher Experience within a retail butchery or customer-facing butcher shop environment Strong knife skills and knowledge of meat preparation techniques Experience preparing and presenting meat products for retail sale Excellent customer service and communication xxuwjjq skills Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety regulations Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties Reliable, professional, and able to work as part of a team Flexible to work weekends as part of a rota Benefits Permanent, long-term opportunity Competitive salary based on experience Supportive and friendly working environment Staff discount Free on-site parking Opportunity to work with high-quality locally sourced produce If you're an experienced Butcher looking for their next career move, apply now!
