Clinical Receptionist and Booking Clerk – Clinical Therapies
We are recruiting multiple candidates to join our Clinical Therapies Administration Team at Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Teaching Hospitals. The role supports the delivery of a professional, first‑class reception and booking service within the Clinical Therapies Department.
Hours: 30 – 37.5 per week (to be agreed at interview). Work across all Trust sites is an expectation of the role.
Job Overview
As a Band 2 employee you will provide administrative and reception support to facilitate patient pathways, including booking services, processing clinic changes, call centre cover, referral processing and general administrative tasks. You will build and maintain close working relationships across clinical administrative teams, utilising Standard Operating Procedures to ensure functions are completed accurately and within time‑frames. Accurate data recording with SystmOne, CaMIS and E‑referral, and effective use of Patient Tracking Lists, will be essential to book outpatient/inpatient events in line with clinical instruction and waiting‑time targets.

Person Specification
Knowledge & Experience
* Previous experience in a clinical or administrative role
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Word)
* Commitment to training in RTT national and local waiting‑time rules
* Previous hospital or NHS clerical/administrative experience
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Understanding of RTT national and local waiting‑time rules
* Knowledge of Trust policies, including the Patient Access Policy
Qualifications & Training
* Minimum of 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths at Grade C or above
Personal Attributes & Skills
* Calm, diplomatic interaction with a range of personalities and situations
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Methodical and organised approach to work
* Can work under pressure to meet tight deadlines in a busy environment
* Ability to prioritise and manage own workload without direct supervision
* Experience liaising with multiple disciplines
