Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)
Location: Newburn Medical Practice (Aberdeen and Oldmeldrum)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week/full time

Due to continued growth and service development, we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse to join our clinical team as a Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP).
The Role
This is an exciting development opportunity for an experienced nurse who wishes to progress towards becoming an Advanced Nurse Practitioner within primary care. The successful candidate will receive structured support, supervision, and mentorship whilst undertaking the necessary academic and clinical training.
Working alongside GPs, ANPs, practice nurses, pharmacists, and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will develop advanced clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills to manage patients presenting with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assess, examine, diagnose, and manage patients under appropriate supervision.
2. Develop skills in independent clinical decision-making.
3. Undertake patient consultations both face-to-face and remotely.
4. Support the management of acute presentations and minor illness.
5. Participate in chronic disease management and preventative healthcare.
6. Maintain accurate and timely clinical records.
7. Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team.
8. Engage in ongoing education, training, and professional development to achieve ANP competencies.
About You
Essential:
9. Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
10. Significant post-registration clinical experience.
11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
12. Evidence of continuing professional development.
13. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
14. Commitment to undertaking advanced clinical training and education.
Desirable:
15. Experience working in primary care, urgent care, or community settings.
16. Independent prescribing qualification or willingness to undertake training.
17. Experience in clinical assessment and triage.
18. Knowledge of long-term condition management.
