We’re looking for compassionate, resilient Learning Support Assistants to join a specialist SEMH school in Bristol from September. This is a full-time, long-term role supporting pupils with challenging behaviour, emotional dysregulation, and experiences of trauma or abuse.
Your job? To be a trusted adult. A steady, encouraging presence in the lives of young people who need it most.
The role:
* Supporting students aged 11–16 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
* Helping pupils regulate their emotions and re-engage with learning
* Providing consistent, one-to-one and small group support
* Creating a safe, supportive space where pupils feel heard and valued
* Working closely with teaching staff, therapists, and parents to meet individual needs
About you:
* Experience working with young people, especially those with SEMH or behavioural needs
* Confident managing challenging behaviour with a calm, de-escalating approach
* Emotionally intelligent, empathetic and resilient
* Comfortable working in a trauma-informed, attachment-aware setting
* Team player with a genuine passion for helping students grow

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
