Duties and responsibilities
Stepan UK are looking for a Supply Chain Cooordinator to work at our Stalybridge site Monday- Friday 37.5 hours per week
Responsibilities of the role are:-
* Oversee all relevant aspects of the supply chain, from preparation to transportation to delivery.
* Coordinate as required with all stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
* Develop and implement logistics plans in conjunction with the European Transport Manager to optimise the movement and associated financials of the delivery of goods
* Arrange and track shipments, ensuring timely delivery of goods.
* Coordinate transportation schedules to align with production and delivery timelines whilst optimising local loading resource.
* Ensure efficient utilisation of transportation resources.
* Ensure that all daily transactional activities associated with import and export are completed in a timely fashion to achieve seamless border transition.
* Prepare and manage all necessary documentation for import and export activities, including customs declarations, bills of lading, and certificates of origin in compliance with regulations and Stepan policy..
* Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs procedures. Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, shipping companies, and customs agents to ensure adherence to relevant laws.
* In conjunction with the European Transport Manager use data analysis and modelling to identify logistics needs, trends, and patterns.
* Monitor performance metrics such as delivery times and costs, and make adjustments as necessary.
* Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer requirements and to optimise plant performance.
* Collaborate with the operations team to plan production around plant limitations and restrictions while maintaining optimum plant performance and reliability.
* Assist with the preparation of regular reports on logistics activities and performance.
* Assist in identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers/service providers, with the procurement team, to ensure the best quality, cost, and delivery performance. Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers/service providers to ensure continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
Requirements for the role
* Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management and/or the importing and exporting of goods
* Knowledge of customs and international import/export regulations.
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills including understanding of root cause analysis
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Microsoft Office Suite
* Proficiency in SAP, SAP GTS, logistics software is an advantage.
