If you’ve worked with young people before or have experience in care, coaching or support roles, that’s definitely desirable, but the school is also happy to welcome someone with the right attitude and willingness to learn. What you’ll be doing Supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs, including autism, communication differences and sensory needs Helping pupils feel settled, organised and ready to learn Using simple routines, visuals and calm reassurance to support engagement Assisting teachers with small-group activities, individual tasks and classroom routines Providing steady guidance during transitions and busier moments of the day Encouraging confidence, independence and positive learning habits Who might suit this role Someone warm, patient and able to stay calm when things feel unpredictable A good communicator who builds rapport easily with young people Experience in SEND, youth work or care is desirable but not essential A team player who brings reliability, empathy and a positive attitude Someone open to developing new skills through training and hands-on practice Why join Protocol Education?
