An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team at Edinburgh University Health Service. We can offer up to 25 hours per week. Working pattern and hours can be discussed however we are looking for nurse cover on a Friday AM.
Qualifications
1. Registered Nurse qualification with valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
2. Proven experience in patient care within a primary care or similar healthcare setting is desirable
3. Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
4. Competence in medication administration and understanding of pharmacology principles
5. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
6. Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
7. Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team

We are a long-established training practice. We have x2 GP trainers in the practice. We train new GPs and also teach medical students.

Location
With c 24,400 registered patients, the University Health Service is the largest GP practice in Edinburgh and one of the largest in Scotland. This long-established practice, which evolved from The Department of Physical Education, has offered patient services since the 1930s and from its current premises since 1970. The premises occupy the top three floors of the Health and Wellbeing Centre for the University of Edinburgh. There is excellent public transport networks close to the practice as we have no parking available for staff.
