Salary: Grade 5: A GBP 25,138 to A GBP 29,605 per annum depending on experience
Hours: Permanent, part-time (20 hours per week). Flexible working options considered.
The Royal Agricultural University, founded in 1845 (as the Royal Agricultural College), has a global network of circa 17,000 RAU alumni. The Development Office is responsible for maintaining and developing those relationships, as well as for raising funds to support the University’s strategic priorities including maintaining the University’s heritage, innovation projects, student scholarships and bursaries, and research.
The Role
The Development Coordinator is the cornerstone of the Fundraising Campaign, ensuring that all data is accurate, fundraising briefings are prepared, gifts are processed in a timely manner, donor stewardship is implemented, and events run smoothly and successfully. The successful candidate will need to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of giving methods, University fundraising priorities, and a good general knowledge of the University and its news. They will share information and news items with colleagues. They should be proactive, have great attention to detail, be curious, and be an excellent team player.
This role reports to the Head of Development and Alumni Relations and will contribute to the work of the team and the wider External Relations directorate as required. The role holder will also be expected to build positive working relationships with external donors, grant-making bodies, staff, students, and alumni.
Skills And Qualifications
* Excellent communication and people skills are essential.
* Experience of marketing, event management, and other customer-facing roles is required.
* Knowledge of CRM databases, fundraising, higher education, and rural sectors is advantageous but not essential.
